Long Island, New York – November 3rd 2020. One of Long Islands most influential hardcore bands Tension* is now a colossal 5 piece with the addition of guitarist Derek Schilling known from the legendary Long Island hardcore band Neglect. Derek is also known from his projects after Neglect in bands Cleanser and Arkham. The new lineup includes mainstays Joe Rubino (Bass), Mike Rubino (Vocals), Ken Heiss (Guitar) also known from Justice Unknown, Pitfight and 1776. Along with the addition of Derek Schilling on guitar is the return of founding drummer Dave “Hawnz” Musser.

What does the future hold for Tension*? They are excited to be back as an active band and will be available for festivals and shows when available. They are also writing a new album that will be released in early 2021 and are shopping around for a label. Drummer Dave Musser said “The addition of Derek is going to inspire us to write the best album in the history of the band, Derek has been a friend since our days in the 90’s hardcore scene and we are really excited about the addition of someone who has written some of the hardest riffs from that era.”

Tension* started out in December of 1993 in Long Island’s flourishing hardcore and metal scene. Playing shows whenever they could and building a strong fanbase, Tension* started amassing a legion of devoted fans that became like friends and family. Combining the most vicious elements of both the metal and hardcore genres Tension* helped to develop the brutal NY style of underground music we are all familiar with today. Tension* has come to collect the respect and attention they deserve. Being one of the most influential Long Island bands of the last 2 decades. Tension* has been together for over 25 years and are veterans of the hardcore and metal scene with hundreds of shows on its resume
Tension* has always written songs that reflect on past events, current events and possible future events. In addition to songs that talk about depression, frustration and drug addiction. It doesn't matter what your political and personal views are, Tension* tries to connect with everybody that takes the time to listen to the message.
